'99 748 with 36,684 miles with a 2001 996 powerplant that has approximately 6,600 miles on it.
The 996 chip and dual injector throttle bodies are also installed.
5 spoke Marchesini wheels.
Diablo Stradas tires with approximately 4,100 miles on them.
Ducati Snowflake rotors.
Barnett clutch pack, Barnett clutch basket, and an MPL pressure plate with TPO stainless springs, bolts and anodized caps.
The clutch pushrod and slave cylinder is updated to the new Ducati style.
The pilot seat is a Sargent, and the passenger seat a professionally covered in a black aftermarket seat cover.
The rear eccentric hub has been replaced and new fresh bearings have been added and maintained meticulously.
The exhaust is a Fast By Ferracci half system which includes the exhausts, and a polished midpipe.
The rear swingarm is powdercoated and the swingarm pivot bearings have been replaced and shaft lubed on schedule.
The frame and subframe has been finely bead blasted and powder-coated gloss black.
The bike comes with Ducati Performance air intake runners and a Twin-Air cleanable foam filter.
The rear sprocket cover is also DP.
The engine has been equipped with a Nichols lightweight flywheel.
The clutch housing is Ducati Performance Magnesium.
A carbon fiber chainguard and rear hugger has been added.
Front wheel bearings have been replaced three years ago.
The valve clearances have been checked and adjusted according to LT Snyder's recommendations.
Regina 525 Gold chain.
In-tank fuel filter has been removed and mounted externally for easy maintenance.
New Ferrodo front brake pads and Brembo back pads.
LED integrated tail light, original is still on hand.
HID kit with 3000K high beam and 6000K low beam. Can easily be switched back.

 

The mid fairings have been replaced with 996 plastic after the original left lower fell apart at highway speeds two years ago (can only surmise it had hairline cracks due to age, the bike has never been wrecked) . I still have the original right yellow mid. Added the upper CF fairing and front fender two years ago.

 

The original 748 engine, original 996 clutch housing, steel clutch cover, extra radiator, extra expansion tank, 748 throttle bodies, FBF 916 Stage I chip, original 3 spoke wheels, AFAM 40 tooth sprocket, 38 tooth JT sprocket, 14 tooth Renthal front sprocket, Sprocket Specialists quick change carrier, original factory flywheel, original license bracket with turn signals, extra headlamp, water pump plumbing and impeller, complete original 748 engine along with heads, cams, pistons, etc... and a ton of other extra parts.

Clean and clear OH title.

So is it the same chassis or smaller?

 

The frames are identical but Ducati did change the engine bolts from 10mm to 12mm in 2000 or 2001 plus you'll need the 748 to have the 3 phase electronics, but otherwise, it bolts right in.

The real difference, aside from the obvious power output (95 vs. 122, I think), is how each engine produces its power, imo.  The 748 is a high-rev motor while the 996 is torquey with power available down low and mid-range so you don't have to stay on top of the power curve.  The 748 is more nimble but I think the 996 is more practical because of the power band.

Thanks, IP.  I need to figure how I'm going to get it up there after selling my Ram and the Porsche sure the hell can't tow it up there.  I'll be in touch soon.

Cool, it looks like my Duc can get freshened up much sooner.  Do you want me to remove the mid fairings?  Mine can be a PITA to install with the CF upper.

 

I'll send over an email to discuss further and make arrangements to have it picked up.
